Welcome to The University of Nottingham Postgraduate Netball Club

Interested in playing netball with other postgraduates? Whether you play regularly and wish to be a part of the team, or are a bit rusty and keen to get back into it, come along to training and give it a try. It’s a great chance to get involved in university sport, improve your fitness, meet other postgrads, and of course, have fun.

We will be training on a Thursday this year (7-8pm) at the University Park Sports hall and you are welcome to come along to training even if you don’t want to play in the matches. We will also have socials throughout the year (hopefully to celebrate our success!).

We play matches in the intramural league on a Saturday afternoon. All matches are on the netball courts at Highfields. Please try to be there at least 15 minutes before the start of the match so that we can warm up and sort out positions etc.

Every week I send an email to everyone on the mailing list to remind them about match times and training. If you would like to be added to the mailing list please email emjb1978@yahoo.co.uk

It doesn’t matter what standard you are, or even if you have never played before and want to give it a go, please come along. Training is open to those who want to play matches, and also anyone who wants to just train on a Thursday. Everyone is welcome and everyone will get a game.

Congratulations to all of those who played for the PGSA netball team this season. We are the proud winners of the Saturday league. Well done!

March 2006

Friday 10th March saw the the PGSA sports teams tee off in the first ever PGSA Pub Golf Challenge, with players from the netball, men's and women's football, and hockey teams taking part. The round started at Walkabout and visited 9 different pubs with tough drinks and pars in each.The netball girls, who initiated the challenge, put on a brave show in the face of tough competition and came close to siezing an impressive victory. Sadly, they failed to score a much needed hole in one in the latter stages of the competition, allowing Andy from the hockey team to stride (or rather, stumble!) into first place, with an outstanding personal best of -26! Well done to all competitors, see the Photo Gallery for the photographic evidence!
