Advice And Support For Course-Related Problems

The majority of people, for the majority of the time, will progress though the course without a hitch, or at least without anything too serious happening. Sometimes, though, things do go wrong and you may feel that your place on the course is in some doubt. Or you may have a major complaint to make about your school or division, because of the way you have been treated over a certain issue. Often this will happen unexpectedly and you may feel like you don't know where to turn. Well the Education Worker (Theresa Pollard) is here to help!

If you need to meet with someone to talk about your case, Nottingham students can make an appointment to see the Education Worker. If you are not based at Nottingham then it may be possible for someone to visit you at your centre.

Examples of areas where we maybe able to help you include…..

  • - Putting an appeal together after failure of a second attempt at an exam, piece of course work or a placement
  • - An investigation by your school into complaints made against you from University staff, placement areas, or any other external party
  • - Any issues regarding academic offences, including plagiarism
  • - Issues regarding bullying or harassment from a member of University or trust staff

  • - Providing you with independent help and advice
  • - Give you guidance on University complaints, suspension and termination procedures etc. Information on such procedures can also be found online at www.nottingham.ac.uk/qualitymanual

  • - Check your letters to the exam board and suggesting improvements
  • - Make enquires on your behalf with our contacts at the appropriate school
    (only where your consent is given)
