Sports
We are a new team that was set up in Sept 2005 to involve student nurses & midwives in sports activities within the university leagues.
Holly Kitching is our Sports Sec. Inbetween doing her masters she organises the various sports teams NAMA had set up.
We are currently involved in the intra-mural Leagues for Netball and Hockey.
Pete runs our Mixed Hockey team. We play in the mixed intra-mural league in the university at the Astroturf by the Sports Centre. At present they are having pre-season practices on the astroturf on campus. Email Peter White on ntyzpw@gwmail.nottingham.ac.uk
Our boy’s football team is not at time of writing, playing this season but may involved with games against lecturers and against other people learning at the QMC such as the Medics and the Physio's. Check out the board near the NAMA office on C floor for information. Below is the team picture from last season! 
Due to placement and a new exec being voted in we have found it hard to practice and also finding a suitable place to play, therefore we have invested in our own netball post for this season so we can practice at more places. Last year we played in the Saturday Intra-Mural League and this year we hope to do the same but with two teams.
The Athletics Union night is Wednesday. Tickets sell at the bargain price with a proportion coming back to our sports teams. News on the selling of these will come soon.
Last year we had two events for the sports team, one was a sports meal at the end of season and the other was a social to raise money for the teams at BAR NONE in town. Both were a sucess and enjoyed. The BAR NONE allowed non-sports members to come and encouraged a few more players for this season. We hope to arrange another event in November.
We also had a quiz created for us by Lucy from publicity which we sold for a £1 this raised us £30 and was won by Mrs Jackie Taylor who received a hamper of goodies.

Finally sports is about keeping fit, having fun & meeting new people. We're not all athletes so all abilities welcome (the webmaster himself even plays for the hockey team!).The teams consists of players who haven't played in ages so anyone is welcome to join us. Thanks Imi, Claire and Sarah-Kate for everything they did to help set up all the sports teams.
