Help Set-up NAMA at Lincoln

Unfortunately there are no active associations in Lincoln at present

If you have looked around at the content for the other centres on this website you will see that the Derby and Nottingham centres both have Nursing And Midwifery Associations (NAMAs). The students’ Union wants to set up a NAMA at each centre.

In 2006 we will be trying to establish a NAMA at Lincoln and we will be looking for Lincoln students to come forward and register their interest.

What is an  Association?

  • Associations are bodies formed to represent the interests of specific student groups within the University. They generally provide social activities, welfare support and representation. Affiliated to the Students’ Union, they receive a range of help and support in their activities and are also funded by an annual grant.

What Would The Aims Of NAMA Be ?

  1. To represent the University of Nottingham Nursing and Midwifery students based at Lincoln, within the Students' Union and also to the University
  2. To develop and maintain peer welfare and support structures for the University Of Nottingham Students based at Lincoln
  3. To encourage effective communication between your members, the Students' Union, the University and the local community
  4. To provide social opportunities and events for your members

What would the roles on a NAMA committee be?

  • That depends on what the individual NAMA needs - however universal committee roles would include a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, General Secretary, Social Secretary, Publicity Officer and a Welfare Officer.

Interested?

  • If you are interested in helping to set up NAMA at Lincoln, then please register your interest on the "Set-up NAMA" topic on the Lincoln chat forum today! Or contact the Inter-site Support Worker
