Intersite Support Worker - Jonathan Kavanagh
Hi my name is Jonathan Kavanagh I'm a full time
member of staff at
the Students' Union. My role
specifically exists to co-ordinate
developmental projects and promote access to
core Students' Union services to our
healthcare students, based at the
various sites across the East
Midlands.
As you are aware, many of you are
not "traditional" University of
Nottingham students. Most of you
don't follow the standard University
term dates; many of you do not live in
Nottingham; a significant percentage
of you will be mature students often
with family commitments and of
course, you also spend a lot of time
doing placements in clinical areas.
My role goes someway to help
address the issues that these
circumstances create, by providing a first point of contact for students and
acting as a bridge between you and
the Students' Union.
The main areas of my role involve; Providing a signposting facility to other Students' Union and University services for healthcare students, providing training and continued support to student Course Reps at the different centres, acting as a general two way communication link between your centre and the Students' Union and co-ordinating many of the development projects that benefit healthcare students at the various centres
The Inter-site Officer and I work together to help students like you based at the various sites, in and out of the Nottingham area.
