Boston Section Index

The School of Nursing and the Academic Division of Midwifery both have a presence at the Boston Education Centre which is located at the back of the Pilgrim Hospital site. Boston and Grantham are classed as one centre with Grantham being a satellite site of Boston. In total more than 280 University of Nottigham studetns are based at these centres. The Boston Education Centre is also shared with Leicester University who hold sections of some of their medical courses at this centre.

The Pilgrim Hospital Sports & Social Club
(Common Room)

During weekdays students can access the bar area of the Pilgrim Hospital Sports and Social Club (next to the Education Centre) and use this area as a common room. You can access the bar area via your trust swipe card, although this will only work once your card has been activated to allow you access. To arrange this contact Jenny Humphrey: 01205 445389. No alcohol is served during the day, although the bar is fully open most evenings the club also holds regular events for students. The tennis courts at the side of the Education Centre are available for hire via the Sports and Social Club.

Students’ Union Services Provided

Student Facilities At Grantham


Common room

No a common room as such; but a social area to have a hot drink and a chat, can be found at the back of the School of Nursing’s Grantham centre. Vending machines are also available in the area providing drinks and snacks.

Students’ Union Services Provided

Please note that the £50 loan scheme (pg ??) is not available at the Grantham centre. However it can be accessed via Jenny at the Boston Centre, to obtain this call in advance on 01205 44 5025.
