Description of job: I oversee the Union's finances and ensure that the Union spends and receives its money efficiently. I provide your clubs, societies and student run services with the grants which many need in order to develop, and am here to provide financial help and guidance for these student groups and also JCRs should they need it.
The other side of my job includes the development of your Union's commercial services. These include the Pioneer Travel, the Print Shop, the Union Shops and your brand spanking new bars for September 2007, 'Mooch' and 'the Venue', based on University Park.
Aims: This year I will be working more closely with JCRs and giving them a greater level of financial support. This will mean that student money is spend more efficiently and to the benefit of the students. I will also review the role of club and society assistant treasurers intending to make them more effective with the financial support which they give to their student groups.
