What is the Students' Union?

The Students' Union represents every single student who comes to our university. Not only does the SU represent them- it is them, it is run by students for students. Decisions are made democratically- right from the top level (the 13 Executive members were elected by a cross-campus election of over 5,500 students) to the lower levels of societies and clubs which all hold democratic elections for their committees.

Democracy also means action- as the students' representatives we act in their interests on a national and local level. We participate in national demonstrations (e.g. top up fees) along side the NUS (National Union of Students) as well as local campaigns and boycotts (e.g. against our graduation ceremony costs).
