From: I was originally born in North Wales, but I have lived in Nottingham since I was 4.
Job Description: I am in the exciting position of being your first ever Community Officer! This role has been created to try and develop closer relations between the student residents and permanent residents living in local areas. I will represent the Students' Union at local residents and council meetings, acting as the main point of contact between you, the University and external community bodies. I also sit on the Student Community Action Board.
Aims: My main aim for this year is to build up the role of Community Officer to increase the positive contact between the Students' Union and the wider community. I will be producing a newsletter that will allow local people to understand more about students. I will also be building on the street representatives' scheme, alongside an expansion of the Silent Students Happy Homes (SSHH) campaign to more areas where students live.
