Welfare Committee 2006 - 2007

Hi, we’re the welfare committee and our job is to plan and run all the welfare campaigns in the year. This can be quite a hefty task when we try to link up with different groups within the Students’ Union and departments in the University and get out to all the different sites of the university. The campaigns for each year are chosen in the summer and the committee is elected before the start of each academic year. Although many people might think welfare is a fluffy kind of role, we have great fun running all the campaigns and promoting the welfare services that the Students’ Union and the University has to offer. Check-out the campaigns for more info about what we have been up to recently!

The activities of the Welfare Officer and Welfare committee are reported and submitted to Students' Union Council. These reports can be read here:

The next Union Council is on Thursday 6th December, 7pm - and so i'll add my report from this Council as soon as its been accepted by Union Council!

Your Welfare committee this year is :

Jenny Smith – Welfare Officer (Chair)

Nicola Byrom – Reps Liaison

Sarah Payne – General Secretary

Hong Thi Nguyen

Richard Chandler

Charlotte Boon

Beth Timney - PGSA Welfare officer

??? - our first year rep, yet to be elected ! If you are a first year, and are interested in running for a position on the Welfare committee – please contact Jenny on suwelfare@nottingham.ac.uk or 0115 84 68772.

We want to run campaigns that matter to YOU, so if you have any ideas for issues that you think we should be raising awareness on, please contact the welfare officer. Any questions that you would like putting to the welfare committee should be sent to suwelfare@nottingham.ac.uk Please put the subject title as “FAO welfare committee” - Thanks!
