Attractions

We aim to bring you nothing but the best attractions at this year’s Graduation Ball. Expect to see a combination of live music and DJ’s plus much, much more. So far we have the following acts confirmed:

The Jonny Slater Jazz Quartet

  • The Jonny Slater Jazz Quartet was formed in February, 2006, and comprises some of Nottingham University's finest jazz talent. Their first performance was in our very own Derby Hall, and since then they have played at a series of high profile gigs and functions. The Jonny Slater Jazz Quartet will be providing this year’s dinner entertainment. www.jonnyslater.com

Invaders from the Planet Phunk

  • Invaders from the Planet Phunk are one of London’s hottest ten-piece live bands performing funk and soul classics from the 70s mixed with modern dance floor hits-they are awesome! Some of the bands musicians have played with acts such as Moloko, Jules Holland and Lemar, so we are delighted to have them with us at this year’s event. www.planetphunk.co.uk

DJ Andy Hoe

  • We all love Andy Hoe and know him best as Oceans resident DJ. Andy has played at Grad Ball for the past two years and can’t wait to get back there in 2007-and neither can we! Expect to dance your socks of and reminisce with Andy’s cheesy playlist!

Vernon Kay

  • Believe it or not, Vernon Kay shot to fame when he won ‘Model of the Week’ on Channel 4’s Big Breakfast. Since then Vernon has become a successful radio and T.V presenter. Vernon hosts the Saturday and Sunday morning shows on Radio 1 and recently fronted the reality T.V singing competition, Just the Two of Us. Vernon Kay has done it all and now he’ll be doing his thing at this year’s Grad Ball! Vernon has many offers for University Ball’s and Summer Parties and he has only agreed to do ours this year-so we are feeling pretty smug! Vernon will be playing a varied set, guaranteed to get you all dancing.

Cut Up Boys

  • The Cut up Boys are the best mashup producers/DJ’s in the world! They rock the airwaves every Saturday night on Radio 1 with the sublime ten minute CUT-UP-CUT that kicks off the Judge Jules show. Be sure to catch them causing more mayhem in the main marquee at this years Grad Ball. www.cutupboys.co.uk

Pimms Bar

  • Nothing beats a glass of pimms on a summer’s day! You can find the Pimms Bar in the John Carr Suite and Decolwyk Hall.

Casino

  • If you need a break from the excitement of the main marquee why not cool down and try your luck in our fun Casino. Black Jack, roulette and much more…

Fireworks

  • To start this year’s celebrations with a bang, expect to see a spectacular display above Colwick Hall.

Photographer

  • Capture your memories of this year’s event and visit one of the photographers studio’s on the back lawns of Colwick Hall. You don’t need to pay anything on the night and can view and buy photographs online after the event at www.instantpix.co.uk

BBQ

  • Feeling peckish? The onsite barbeque will be open all night providing a selection of hot foods and snacks. (payable locally).

Magicians & Glo Performers

  • This year’s entertainment line up never stops, with much happening outside of the marquees and Hall. We have booked some fantastic walk-about acts, so expect to be amazed by our magicians and dazzled by out glo performers!

There is still much more to be confirmed, so watch this space…
