Job Description: I provide a link between students, societies and the Union. It’s my job to guide new societies in forming and ensure that all societies are open, safe, fair and inclusive of all members of the SU. I chair and oversee the work of the Societies Executive Committee, which is responsible for providing information and support to all societies and guiding them through the process of affiliation, which is approved at Societies Council which I also chair. I organise Refreshers Fayre and the annual Societies Ball and Awards. I'm a full time sabbatical officer on the Students Union, so please feel free to get in contact with any questions or comments regarding societies.
Aims: My main aims for this year are to increase the amount of space available to societies and to extend my remit and so provide more support to societies that form beneath associations and on all of our sites and campuses.
