Societies Weekly Newsletter

Dear All,

Welcome to the first of weekly Societies Newsletters for the academic year. Thank you all for your hard work at Freshers’ Fayre, I am pleased to announce that the event ran smoothly and was a great success that could not have been achieved without the societies. This week sees the start of what I hope will be a very successful year for societies; I wish you all luck for the coming weeks and months.

The purpose of this newsletter is to provide you not only with essential information about running your society but also with up to date information about what is going on in the Students’ Union and opportunities that arise, be they anything from sponsors that have approached me (of which there will be many!) to opportunities to run for the Societies Executive Committee.

Every week I will ask the other officers on exec if they are planning anything that they would like you to know about. I know nobody likes to be spammed with emails, which is another reason for this newsletter; other than specific targeted emails from Angela, the student activities support worker, or I, you should not be receiving any other emails about societies from the Union. If you are being spammed with information from elsewhere in the Union then please let me know.

There is a plethora of information for you in this newsletter, so I have on the whole linked to it below, so you can read it at your leisure.

This weeks info:

Eco Action Week/Green Week

Student Environmental & Ethical Network

Deloitte Open Presentation

Active Political Network

Warmest regards,

Matt Leventhall
