We are both very friendly and approachable so please feel free to come and see us with any enquiries, it doesn't have to be Student Union related, if we can't help you then we'll make every effort to direct you in the right direction
Who do we come under in the organisation?
Reception comes under the Administration Department in the Students' Union. The Administration Department staff are PA's to the Sabbatical Officers (President, Democracy & Communications Officer, Finance & Services Officer, Community Officer, Welfare Officer and Education Officer), Non-sabbatical Officers (Equal Opps, Environment & Social Justice Officer, Inter-site & Residential Officer) and Management of the Students' Union. So if you ever need to contact any of the Officers mentioned then please call into the Administration Department, Ground Floor, Portland Building, all other Officers are located in Student Activities, Ground Floor, Portland Building
Services we provide
- General enquiries
- Transport bookings for clubs and societies - click on the Transport sublink at the side for more info
- Room bookings for clubs and societies - click on the Room Bookings sublink at the side for more info
- Equipment hire for clubs and societies (for a small charge) - tv/video/dvd, projector, flipchart, badge maker, camcorder, PA (inc speakers, amp and microphones), digital camera and fondue set - these can only be hired for use on campus
- Fax service: UK £1 per page; EEC £1.50 per page; Non-EEC £2 per page
- Photo machine: £3.00 - located near SU Reception
- Panic Alarms - 50p
- Box Office - this will give you details of tickets we have on sale at the moment. We now also have a board outside the Reception with up-to-date tickets we have on sale. Click on the Box Office sublink at the side for details on Oceana (Mon) and Ocean (Fri) tickets
- NUS Democracy cards
- NUS Extra Cards
- Associate Membership - for students who have graduated from this University and wish to keep in touch with societies etc
- Safety Bus
