Forum
FORUM hosts talks at the University of Nottingham from some of the most prominent and high profile public figures in the UK. Membership and events are totally free to reflect our belief that everyone should have a chance to hear, question and challenge our guests with the aim of provoking topical debate and discussion. We have no political or religious affiliations and are simply a platform for speakers that YOU want to see.
Past speakers include journalists and writers such as Will Self, Germaine Greer and Andy McNab, activist Sir Clive Stafford-Smith and Amnesty International, and many politicians including Kenneth Clarke, David Blunkett, Geoff Hoon and Douglas Hurd. We have held debates on the Iraq war, Britain’s place in the EU with Lembit Opek MP and Roger Helmer MEP, and on issues facing the third world with then Secretary of State Hillary Benn and Oxfam.
