Athletic Union: Sport for All
If you want to get involved in sport, you will be pleased to hear that the Athletic Union (part of the Students' Union) has a lot to offer. It caters comprehensively for elite athletes as well as grass roots participants in a diverse range of sports.
The Athletic Union comprises of an enormous range of different areas and really does provide some way for everyone to get involved, whether you want to play a few matches with your friends or whether you are striving to represent your country!
Intra Mural Sports
The University of Nottingham Intra-Mural System is one of the biggest (and best!) in the country, with over 170 teams competing each week in 5 different sports it's a great way to get involved in sport. Perfect if you enjoy playing in a friendly but competitive arena, either with you hall, course mates, society or group of friends. Organised internally by a dedicated team of students from The Athletic Union in Student Activities, ran by students for students!
Sports include football, netball, mixed hockey, rugby and basketball, however if there is something you'd like to play then let us know, and we'll do our best to get it up and running.
Intra-Mural is made up of weekly leagues, one day competitions, and cup competitions meaning there's more than one way to play. If you don't fancy playing why not show some support for you hall, department, society or group of mates!
Off the Pitch
Off the pitch the Athletic Union offers you a lot to get your teeth into, with the annual Charity Varsity Series against Nottingham Trent University and the Wednesday Athletic Union Nights at The Works nightclub. Both of these are attended by thousands of students each year and you should look out for them over the course of the year!
